Last week I attended Jaxson's 3rd grade field trip to Saltwater State Park. I was so impressed by how much the kids know and how many new things I learned about "beach life". The only beach life I have cared to know about includes sun, waves, and palm trees. Apparently there is a whole ecosystem just hanging out under rocks and in tide pools. :) A retired marine biologist joined us and taught us about sea stars, sea urchins, midshipmen, sea cucumbers, octopuses, and lots of creatures I have already forgotten. It was fun to be with Jaxson and his friends. When we climbed onto the school bus, Jaxson turned around and said, "Wow, Mom, I bet it has been a long time since you've been on a school bus." I said that was exactly what I was thinking. We came home happy with wet shoes, wet socks, wet jeans, and lots of laughs.
