Last week Kaisa joined her 4th grade class at "Wagons Ho"! I was quite impressed! Wagons Ho is a traveling classroom that goes around the state of Idaho teaching about the early settlers including mountain men, native american tribes, and pioneers. They show up in a covered wagon and the kids get to go to different stations which included roping, making pioneer toys, preparing a dutch oven meal, branding, sawing logs with old crazy saws (aka misery sticks), writing in journals, churning butter, and making mountain men buttons. That was my station. We made buttons with old hole drillers and wood and then they polished them with river rocks. I will never again take my buttons for granted! Kaisa looked pretty darn cute in her western ware.
