President's Day Weekend

Our fun-filled weekend began with a trip to Pomerelle ski resort.  It is where I learned to ski many moons ago, so it is only appropriate that it was where my family first tried out the sport!  Actually, this was Tony's second time skiing, but his first time learning to ski!  The first time he went skiing he was a Senior in high school and he and his best friend Benji skipped school…  Benji took him to the top of the mountain and checked in with him while he passed him multiple times…  Thanks alot Benji!  Tony's bad first experience costed me 15 years of non-skiing!  :)  This time was much better and Tony did awesome.  Kaisa surprised us by being a total natural!  All those hours rollerblading must have helped her out!  Jaxson and Carson also picked it up pretty easily and were soon cruising and racing down the hill!  I can't wait to go again!!

Pomerelle is only about 30 minutes to the cabin where we stayed together for the weekend.  It was the strangest house I have ever stayed in!  Some of it was really cool and lots of it made you scratch you head and wonder what they were thinking.  It was great for all 17 of us though!  We went snowmobiling and sledding to the City of Rocks until we ran out of snow.  Carson was sooooo excited to go "snowbobilling" and loved to ride with his uncle Jason.

Most of all, it was just fun to be together.  The cousins all get along so well and stayed very busy playing.
There were some marathon Monopoly games, dance/singing recitals, card games, video games, snowball fights, fort building, hide-and-go-seek, story telling, movie watching, and more...

I sure love our family and I am so thankful to be able to make these great memories together!
