BIG 11

Jaxson is officially 11 years old.  I remember moms telling me how fast he would grow up when he was a baby and they were sooooooo right.  I can't believe how fast these past 11 years have flown by.  There are so many things I love about this kid/young man.  I love his sense of humor and quick wit (he cracks us up daily), his tender heart (he admitted to crying during the movie "The Odd Life of Timothy Green") and he hates for anything to suffer.  Jaxson is an awesome big brother!  Though he does more than his fair share of teasing, he is also very protective and will even allow a quick hug from Kaisa during recess.  Jaxson has lots of faith and already a strong testimony of the gospel.  He believes his prayers will be answered and they usually amazingly are!  In fact, when we need something to happen, we jokingly ask Jaxson to pray for it cuz it usually works!  He is both cool and goofy and silly and serious.  He admits to having liked a girl or two but won't admit to liking any now and he was a little disgusted when 7 girls in his class asked him to be their "valentine".  He is very competitive and wants to do his best.  He LOVES sports and spends most of his time practicing, thinking, and strategizing about sports.  But I love that when the coach asks Jaxson to make sure another player who doesn't get the ball much gets a pass or two, Jaxson makes sure that he does...  I wish we could freeze Jaxson right where he is now; I wouldn't change a thing.

For Jaxson's birthday, we had a big "paintball party" with 7 of his closest friends here.  They had a (literal) blast!  Unfortunately all the pictures of the party were wiped off my phone so we'll just have to keep the memories.  Tony and two of the other dads had a lot of fun shooting the boys (and each other I think!)  It was definitely a success!

We ate Jaxson's birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse the night of his birthday and Jaxson's Webelo leader made him a giant cookie for his last day of cub scouts.  Preteen years, here we come!
