Time flies when you are having fun and our summer must have been a ton of fun--I can't believe it is over!! And we even got a full 13 weeks of no-school summer and it still disappeared way too quickly. Some of our adventures this summer included exploring more new parks:
And playing in the water! We definitely got our money's worth with our Roaring Springs water park passes! We counted about 20 times that we went this summer and we were able to share it with friends and family which made it even better!
We had some fun visitors this summer! We are lucky to be in the pathway between Washington and Utah, so the Whitneys stopped on their way through. We also spent a full day of fun with the Kelly's while they were here in Boise visiting family.
Sports, sports, sports! We enjoyed a Boise Hawks baseball game (not quite Mariner standards but it was still lots of fun!); Jaxson started tackle football and his practices were for 2 hours EVERY night! Yipes! They take football pretty seriously! Jaxson loves it though and he is on a great team. Kaisa started soccer and is also loving it and Carson tries to find something to do during his sibling's many practices. He'll start his soccer games next weekend; it is going to be pretty tricky for the next few weekends. Luckily my parents are happy to come and help taxi and cheer to all the games!
We spent a fantastic few days in McCall, Idaho. It was so much fun! We met some friends from the ward there and all our kids were able to be part of the "Junior Judges" at the boat show. Don't they look official? The best part of McCall is probably the huge Payette Lake. They had a floating trampoline suspended in the lake; Jaxson and his friend Jace swam out but the rest of us just stuck with the pool. We also fell in love with Ice Cream Alley, where we would get a big ice cream and then eat it on the beach of the lake. I see a lot more McCall in our future…
One of the fun things we did in McCall was to go on a canoe ride up the northern fork of the Payette river. It was so beautiful. It made me realize how much I do miss the trees and green of Washington; as we were driving closer and the pine trees were getting taller, I actually teared up a little because it felt like home! I guess we are going to need to plant some tall pine trees when we build our house…
We canoed for a little while and then got out and swam in the river and looked for "fool's gold".
