Summer Fun Part 1

Now that we are officially half-way through our first Idaho summer (at least for Kaisa and Carson), we decided that we need to figure out some things we want to do before the kids are back to school…  It has been a fun summer so far though.  Some of the things we are doing to keep busy are…
Playing at Roaring Springs water park--it is within bike riding distance so we got summer passes and boy are we using them!

Visiting some of the parks nearby… one of our favorites is called "Settler's Park" and they also have Friday night movie night.  That is on our list for part 2.

 

 

 

Trying new restaurants in the area.  Our favorites are Cafe Rio, Rumbi's, GoodWood BBQ, and Kneaders!

Getting our "cowgirl" on with cousins.  This is Kaisa's first horseback ride.  Luckily her cousin Sam is very good with horses and actually knows what she is doing!

The kids took swimming lessons in the backyard of a house in our neighborhood.  It was very convenient and I thought their coaches were fantastic.  On the last day, they turned on the slide for a treat! 

Kaisa loved swimming this year--which is a HUGE improvement over every other year.  I don't know if it was being taught by girls she sees at church or if the warm water made a difference but it was wonderful to not have to fight her to go each morning.  Kaisa said she just needed the "fresh air".  Go figure! 

Jaxson probably doesn't need lessons anymore, but he learned some new stroke techniques and worked on his diving skills.
