Lake Chelan
Earlier this month, we were lucky enough to have a visit from my mom and dad. It was a short visit, but we'll take what we can get! We spent a couple of days finishing up some shopping and crafts and then headed over to Lake Chelan for three days. We planned to go sledding there and play in the snow, but it was raining when we arrived and the snow was more like slush. The famed sledding hill was not even open. Not only that, but Lake Chelan is pretty quiet in December; the evening we pulled into town looking for somewhere to eat, I am pretty sure they opened up a restaurant just for us. We were the only people there! The food was great, though! We were afraid we would not be able to find enough activities to keep us busy, but we shouldn't have worried. We had so much fun playing raquetball, sightseeing, hot-tubbing, playing foosball, making treats, playing chess, watching movies, playing cards and just getting a chance to be together. I am so thankful for my wonderful parents. And I am so thankful that as awesome as they are as parents, they are even 'awesomer' (in Jaxson's words) as grandparents. My kids ADORE them and count the days until they arrive. In fact, they counted down to their arrival well before they started counting down to Christmas. One morning, Kaisa seemed a little sad and I asked her what was wrong. She said she had "lost count" of when Grandma and Grandpa were coming. Luckily it was only a couple of days away. Thanks Mom and Dad!! We sure love you guys!
