You know how so many moms think their kid is amazing and special? And they are totally right; I really believe our kids aren't in our families by chance. Each one really is amazing and special and perfect for that family. And I feel so blessed to have these 3 in our family. Tony and I joke (probably too often) that Heavenly Father must not have had a lot of confidence in us as parents because he sent us 3 of his easiest children. And that may certainly change in the future but right here right now I am so so thankful for each of these amazing people I get to call my kids.
I love how much they love each other. Tonight Jaxson and Tony were on their way home from a camping trip and Carson wanted to say goodnight to Jaxson. After his excited 'Hi Jaxson' I could hear Jaxson enthusiastically say "Hey bud! I have missed you SO much!" and my heart just melted. I love how Kaisa and Carson can play for hours together - whether it is with toy horses or they have made their own military recruitment center (of which I was a somewhat reluctant recruit), they have so much fun playing and creating and imagining together. Jaxson has always been their leader of sorts. The other night Jaxson missed scripture study while he was out with some friends. We were in Mosiah and talking about how Mormon was impressed by and had great respect for King Benjamin. It asked for examples of those around us that impress us. We came up with quite a few, including President Monson, Grandma Campbell, Grandpa and Grandma Webb, Uncle Tim, President McCoy, our bishop… And then Kaisa said that Jaxson impresses her because he is such a kind big brother and because he takes his calling as Deacon's Quorum President seriously. And my heart melted. :)
I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I have been given to be their mom!
