Why we did it...

Moving from Washington to Idaho was not a decision we made lightly.  Looking back, I still can't believe we did it...  Over the past year, we felt a little bit like our lives were spinning out of control.  Tony's job required more and more hours and his stress level continued to rise, and his hour + commute each way didn't help.  Add to that a couple of broken arms, 3 funerals, and new stress from my job and we were ripe for a change! :)  At Tony's Grandma's funeral, we were talking about how crazy our schedules were when Tony's brother said, Why don't you just move back to Idaho?  Simplify things?  Hmmmm....why didn't we?
We looked for jobs from my iPhone on our drive back home and found literally one job in Boise which looked too good to be true.  Tony applied which started our 1 month whirlwind of moving to Idaho.  The fact that we found a great house in a great neighborhood and that I found a part-time hospital pharmacist position at a hospital only 5 minutes away only validated what we knew to be true--we were supposed to move.  It was probably the  hardest thing we have ever done as a family.  Since we didn't have family in Washington, our friends became our family and it hurt leaving them just as much as it hurt leaving our families the first time.  We all cried more the week that we moved than I hope we ever cry again!
But now that we are here, WOW.  There is no doubt that this is where we are supposed to be.  Our ward and neighborhood is so great that after only 1 month, we are determined to stay here.  Tony works "normal" flexible hours and has a 15 minute commute, which means we get to see A LOT more of him.

We are loving the blue sky and sunshine.  Even though I really didn't mind the rain (too much) in Washington, I have to admit it is truly a breath of fresh air to be able to enjoy being outside so much.

Last weekend we drove to Pocatello to see our nephew Sam get ordained a deacon.  It is something that we would have loved to do but would never have made that 13 hour drive from WA for a weekend trip. I love the relationships and friendships that are growing between my kids and their cousins.  That same weekend my dad, my sister and her kids came to stay with us and go to the State Track Meet together.  I hope I will never take these moments with family for granted--I know I won't for a long time!

I guess to sum it up, we moved because we realized that life is short and we need to make the most of our time together.  Which is why we are also planning several trips back to Washington...  :)

Sounds like you are doing very well in Idaho. I remember when Tony got the news you needed to move to Boise and he wasn't exactly happy :) And now it's full circle back to Boise! Stay well and enjoy your sunshine... If you need more sunshine, head south. In Texas there is NEVER a shortage of heat and sunshine :)

Miss you guys, but we are glad that you are doing so well in Boise. Jackson keeps on asking if Carson can come and play. We will have to set up a playdate for the next time we are driving through Idaho.
