Mid November we had a pretty good snow storm and ended up with a lot of fun snow to play in.
This is Carson's snow fort.
Our kids could not wait to get out and play in the snow each day after school that week!
Since we were kinda stuck at home (all basketball games were cancelled for the weekend) and it felt a lot like Christmas, we decided to decorate a bit early this year!
One of our favorite traditions is to go to the "Journey through Bethlehem" tour at the Seventh Day Adventist church here in Meridian. We also went to the Nativity at our LDS seminary building too, but this one is the best! We love it - and Clyde the camel is always fun to see!
This handsome devil had a First Grade Holiday concert.
Kaisa and Jaxson had a holiday piano recital that was really fun. Jaxson played a complicated "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" rendition and Kaisa played "Away in a Manger" and
"What Child is This?"
We headed to Pocatello to see Tim and LeeAnn and go skiing at Pebble Creek. The kids just loved these snow covered foothills!
Kaisa said she is smiling really big in this picture, but we will never know. :) We had a lot of fun skiing! Jaxson and Kaisa are independent skiers now and can handle themselves really well. Carson is still learning - he fluctuates between being crazy and skiing down the hill like a banshee or is nervous and wants to hold mind or Tony's hand. He is starting some lessons next month that I think will help him a lot. By the end of the day he was already skiing better.
We also went to the "Rollerdrome" and did some inline skating. This is totally Kaisa's strength - she could be a roller derby girl or something. And it is probably the only 'sport' that Kaisa and Carson can outdo Jaxson at right now. Which is good for all of them!
We visited the Village during the holidays for dinner and frozen yogurt!
We also went to Grandpa and Grandma Webb's house to have a family Christmas get together. It was so much fun! We watched a family 'movie of the year' and played "Minute to Win It" games together.
Our family is surprisingly (actually not at all surprisingly) competitive - so these games were serious!
Carson figured out the 'elevator' game!
And Jaxson and Kaisa came out conquerors over Tyson and Brogan in the sibling can stacking game. It was a close one though!
Our kiddos spent Christmas eve together in the play room.
Merry Christmas!
We spent New Year's Eve back at Grandpa and Grandma Webb's and had fun playing games, watching movies, and eating way too many treats. At midnight we toasted the New Year and the kids lit sparklers for about 30 seconds - it was sooooo cold!
