I truly thought 13 weeks of summer would be enough. Now that we are down to just 2.5 weeks left before time to go back to school, I am certain I was wrong. We made a "bucket list" at the beginning of the summer of 20 things we wanted to do. We have quite a few to do in the next 3 weeks to finish our list! Here is a quick summary of our so-far crazy summer:Lots and lots of Roaring Springs--that summer pass is well worth the $$. It is especially fun when we have visitors! We were excited to have Tessa here on business and so happy that she brought McKenna along to play with us for a few days! The kids loved catching up and we all had a lot of fun at Roaring Springs.
We went to the new Superman movie at the Parma Drive-In movie theatre. It was lots of fun--what isn't fun about sitting outside on the top of your car and watching a movie? But then we discovered the next morning that it wasn't just us munching our way through the movie--Carson had a ton of mosquito bites and the rest of us had a few too…
We have had a couple of playdates with these cute boys. Carson loves hanging with Logan and Crue!
Kaisa is part of a group of 12 girls that have rotated hosting activities each week. For our week we played water balloon volleyball and did some fun crafts in the backyard. It has been fun for these girls to get to know each other better over the summer.
We have spent quite a lot of time visiting Grandpa and Grandma Webb on the farm. Jaxson has worked a little there this summer and is always bringing his "farm clothes" just in case Grandpa has something he can help do. Carson also makes sure to bring his "farm shoes" so he won't miss out on any of the action.
We've spent a lot of fun times with cousins on their ranch too…
We had a blast at Lagoon with all of my family. We almost died laughing at Grandma on the Tidal Wave ride! She is so cute and was such a good sport.
Happy day at Lagoon and Lagoona Beach!
We were super excited when the Dorman family came for a visit. It was extra special since we got to celebrate Laura's birthday while they were here. I love love love these cute girls!
While the Dorman's were visiting we spent a few days in McCall--it was HOT! Way hotter than normal and were so happy when Mike rented a boat for the day. Spending our time out on the lake on the tube and wakeboard and playing at the beach felt sooooo much cooler! We also played at a couple of pools, ate some great food, and just had a lot of fun together (as usual!).
It was fun to reunite these partners in crime!
We tried out a few new pools in the area as well -- this one is called "Ivy Wild" and we went with 12 of Jaxson's crazy friends.
Somehow I was recruited to join a softball team….I'm still not sure how that happened. We were so busy this summer that I only played in 6 games but it was way more fun than I expected! The guys are on our team were pretty fantastic and made up for a few of us girls who didn't know exactly what we were doing. :) We ended up winning the whole championship! WooHoo!
More Lagoon -- I love my family!
We got to cross something extra off our bucket list when the Dormans were here because we went to the Old State Penitentiary. It was very interesting and a little bit scary and very hot!
We also checked out the Meridian pool which was pretty impressive. We went with Jaxson's football team (which includes many in our ward) after hours so we had the whole pool to ourselves.
Another bucket list item: floating the Boise River! We have heard a lot about this Boise summer tradition but weren't really sure how to do it. So when the Perry's and Wilkinson's invited us to join them, we jumped at the chance! They were pros and we were happy to tag along. The Wilkinson's had a huge raft so they were our "Plan B" in case our raft or the Perry's raft didn't make it! Jaxson and Logan sat in inner tubes that were tethered to the Perry's raft. We also stopped and played on a scary rope swing for a little while too. It was pretty awesome and so much fun. This will definitely become an annual tradition for us!
