Holiday Madness

I am both sad and relieved that the holiday season is over. What a crazy month was December! A couple of years ago, we started a tradition or actually multiple traditions when we began putting a holiday activity into each day of our advent calendar. The first 25 days of December looked something like this:

1. Make gingerbread houses
2. Sleep under the Christmas tree

3. Get Starbucks hot chocolate and look at lights
4. The Christmas Devotional
5. Make snowflakes
6. Go ice skating and go to Snowflake Lane:

Carson's version of
the drummer boys at Snowflake Lane:

7. The Santa Parade (trust us, we were there--it was freeeeezing):

8. Go the The Christmas Carol at the ACT theatre:

9. Go to the Stake Christmas party
10. Make cookies
11. Play "Christmas Light" hide-and-go-seek
12. Watch "The Grinch" and eat green popcorn
13. Visit the temple grounds
14. Watch ELF movie
15. Deliver gifts to friends and neighbors
16. Make missionary care packages
17. Make pulla (a Finnish sweet bread)
18. Write letters to Santa
19. Go caroling (with scouts)
20. Zoolights
21. Watch Polar Express and drink peppermint hot chocolate
22. Orange book w/chocolate orange
23. Kid's shopping for each other
24. Go sledding

It was such a fun and slightly crazy season. We created lots of happy memories! Now I think we're all going to go take a nap. Happy New Year!!!
