We surprised our kids last week by taking them out of school early on Thursday and going to the Great Wolf Lodge. It is only about an hour south of us and we have been meaning to go try it out for a while now. The kids were super-duper excited and it turned out to be worth every penny. We loved feeling some HEAT and being able to play in the water without that water being in puddles or falling from overcast skies was fantastic. The water park was amazing; it had a fun kid pool with a playhouse and lots of things to play on and with, a wave pool (Kaisa's favorite), and a gigantic playhouse complete with slides and huge buckets of dropping water. There were also 4 big tube slides that were tummy-tickling fun (those were Jaxson's favorite), and a huge hot tub (my favorite)! We also went on a quest --complete with magic wands-- and defeated a fire-breathing dragon, ate lunch in a tent, and devoured way too much ice cream. Definitely a perfect kid's getaway. We were lucky enough to share it with some great friends, the Haueters and I'm thinking this may have to be an annual event. Our kids think it should be a weekly event. :)
