Portland Getaway

Last week we had one of the urges to just get out of town so we went as far as we could at the last minute: Portland, OR. We ended up having a really fun time together. We first headed to the Oregon Zoo, which was really cool. Here are our 3 in the eagle's nest.

Carson loved the turtles! (One of my favorites too)

I had to add this picture for Grandpa and Grandma Webb. Who knew our kids would be so excited to sit on a tractor at the zoo? Jaxson said he should drive since Grandpa has already taught him how to drive a tractor.

This is the end of the day picture. Kaisa is licking the cinnamon-sugar mixture from the yummy elephant ear off her fingers, Jaxson could probably trek through the zoo again, Tony is happy to be done, and Carson is OUT.

We also visited the temple grounds of the Portland temple. It was so beautiful!

The kids' favorite part was swimming in the hotel pool. I guess we could have driven a lot less than 2.5 hours to do that!

My favorite part was going shopping at the outlet malls in Woodburn, not necessarily with three kids, but they were pretty good sports. After the first store, Jaxson asked if we were done yet. Oh, we weren't even close. Luckily, they had a cute treehouse for them to play in at the half-way point.

Oh, how I miss pine trees! It is green down here, but there are no pine, mostly cedar and oak. I'm with you and the outlet malls~none of my kids have braved ours in San Marcos so me and my SIL Elizabeth shop it alone(well, Corinne went with us once). Sounds like fun!
